Grey Sunday  – Elissa

Does not this sombre morn
seem to be a study in greys?

Pewter clouds heavy with promise
scudding along a steely sky.

Lead, chrome, ash, silver,
every shade frosty to the mind.

Pepper furred cat with sapphire eyes
cuddles by me in his charcoal fleece.
This stony, sombre morn
now warmed with cerulean tints.

Is there anything better than snuggling up to your cat on a cold day?
